But which towns average the cheapest property tax bills?

New data from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs shows that both the average property tax bills in Bergen ($11,564) and Passaic ($9,781) counties are higher than the state's average ($8,690).

Below are the 10 Bergen County towns that averaged the cheapest property tax bills in 2017.

10. Lyndhurst: $8,968

8. Saddle Brook: $8,484
7. Cliffside Park: $8,463
6. Edgewater: $8,312
5. Hackensack: $8,240
